Estacion de Salinas as it is most commonly
known is just off the Malaga to Granada motorway and close to the towns of Loja and
Alhama de Granada and NOT Salinas in
California their is a huge difference (In size if nothing else).
The Salinas railway station is now a glamorous restaurant
that serves up fantastic food & wines in a beautiful surrounding.The
Estacion
de Salinas platform has a lovely view of the Andalucian countryside and makes a
great outdoor dining room for the summer. There is plenty of parking as well.

Salinas has no monuments or
sights to attract the tourist to the area but Salinas still attracts droves of
people passing through to Granada and the Sierra Nevada mountain ski slopes as well
as those travelling west to Malaga,
Antequera, Ronda and the Costa del Sol. Salinas
is a great stopping point and it's four bars/restaurants do a roaring trade. The
town still maintains it's unique Andalucian charm with the vernacular style housing
and outstanding views of the countryside.
There are four good bars/restaurants all of which come highly recommended for there great range of tapas and good cooking. Cafe Bar Mejias has the beautiful salmon with olives and Russian Salad tapas, while Restaurant Manolo serves up tasty meat Pinchitas and potato croquetas. Both have great restaurants with a menu of the day as well as an al la carte menu. The local shop has a truly great selection of meats and sausages and almost everything can be bought here if you fancy doing the cooking yourself. Salinas has it's own Hostal as well as a Farmacia. Real estate in Salinas, like elsewhere in the area of Villanueva del Trabuco, Villanueva del Rosario, Archidona and Antequera is most sought after and opportunities for investment in the town of Salinas are in demand.
